Highland Park is getting a new mural! A resident of Highland Park has applied for a community grant which has been approved and she is ready to begin painting, but needs your help!
No painting experience is required, all are welcome! The artist, Christianne, plans to work on the mural at the Highland Park Community Centre on the following dates:
Tuesday, October 5th, 10am-4pm
Thursday, October 7th, 10am-4pm
Friday, October 8th, 10am-4pm
Saturday, October 9th 10am-4pm
If you are available to help on any of the above dates at any time between 10am and 4pm, please contact Christianne by email.
It is planned that painting will be completed just outside of the community hall unless there is rain or snow in which case painting will be done inside the hall. Please note that any volunteers entering the hall to help with the mural will be required to show proof of vaccination, a negative private COVID-19 test done within the last 72 hours, or a valid medical exemption. For more information on this, please visit our page on the Calgary Vaccine Passport bylaw. We encourage anyone volunteering to be vaccinated even if working outside.
The mural will be placed on the East side of the hall facing the ice rink field once exterior renovations are completed in spring/summer 2022. Until then, the completed mural may be on display inside our hall lobby.
