Join the Highland Park Community Litter Cleanup!
Looking for a fun and meaningful way to connect with your neighbors while keeping our community clean? The Highland Park Community Litter Cleanup is a resident-led initiative that brings people together for a good cause!
How It All Started
This project was initiated in April 2024 by Tina, a dedicated Highland Park resident, who saw the need to tackle litter in our neighborhood. With the support of the Highland Park Community Association (HPCA) and a Neighbourhood Grant, Tina helped create cleanup kits and establish a recurring community event that runs from April to October.
At the heart of this initiative is C.A.R.E. – Caring Actions Raise Everyone. Every small effort adds up, and by working together, we not only clean our streets but also strengthen our sense of community, responsibility, and shared pride in Highland Park.
A Fun & Educational Experience for Families
Our litter cleanup isn’t just about picking up trash—it’s an opportunity to educate children on environmental responsibility while making it a fun family activity! Kids love getting involved, using grabbers, and seeing firsthand how small actions can make a big difference. Plus, it's a great way to meet like-minded neighbors who care about keeping Highland Park clean and beautiful.
When & Where?
We kick off the cleanup season on Earth Day, April 26th, from 10 AM to Noon at the Highland Park Community Association (HPCA). Trash bags and grabbers will be provided, or you can bring your own!
After our Earth Day event, we continue every 2nd Tuesday of the month from May to October, meeting at the HPCA playground from 10 AM to 11:30 AM:
