Notice of Special General Meeting March 25, 2021
The Highland Park Community Association Board of Directors has approved a resolution calling for a Special General Meeting of the membership, to be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 7:30 pm via Zoom.
The purpose of the meeting is to obtain the approval of the membership to proceed with applying for an additional $20,000 loan under the Canada Emergency Business Account (CEBA) program.
Background:
At the Annual General Meeting on September 22, 2020, the membership approved the Board applying for a CEBA loan to the then-maximum amount of $40,000. This loan was applied for and received by the Association in November 2020. As long as repayment is received by December 31 2022, then 25% or $10,000 of the loan will not need to be repaid.
It was recently announced that the Government of Canada is expanding this COVID-19 benefit program to an additional maximum of $20,000. The Highland Park Community Association requires the approval of the membership to apply for the additional loan money now available under the CEBA loan program. Half of this additional $20,000 is forgivable if repaid by December 31, 2022.
