We are in need of volunteers to help direct traffic and unload vehicles. Every volunteer will be provided lunch and refreshments. Please sign up here if you’d be able to help!
Once again, it’s time to comb through your garage and purge your garden shed of that never-used stuff. Community Cleanup events run from April through September to help keep our city clean and safe while also saving residents a trip to the landfill. These popular events are hosted by community associations with support from Calgary Community Standards and Waste & Recycling at The City.
You can dispose of items such as furniture, toilets, broken recreational equipment, e-waste, metal recycling and other large household items. A metal and an e-waste recycler have been confirmed for the event.
Certain items cannot be accepted at the Community Cleanups such as:
Barbecues
Lawn mowers
Yard waste
Car batteries
Glass (e.g. window panes, glass table tops)
Tires
Large household appliances (e.g. refrigerators, freezers)
Liquids (e.g. cooking oils)
Household hazardous waste including
Propane tanks
Paint
Automobile, cleaning, healthcare, and gardening chemicals
Visit calgary.ca to see all items that are accepted. This event is absolutely free!
